Andreea-Ema Stoian is a Film Director, Ph.D. in Cinema Studies at Beijing Film Academy and a Cultural Diplomacy Expert. Her area of research includes transnational cinemas, theories of globalization, culture translation/culture conversation and Sino-Romanian-language cinemas. She is currently working for the Romanian Cultural Institute in Beijing, and has been lecturing several courses on Audio-Visual Language and Film Analysis at Beijing Film Academy, Qingdao Branch in the past. In 2018, Ema has represented Romania in SFATD Sino-Foreign Audio-Visual Forum, has collaborated with China-Eastern Europe Film Promotion, and in 2016 was designated Award Committee Member of Beijing International Film Festival, part of her work being optimizing bilateral film cooperations. Her short film graduation "Together", starring Alina Grigore ("Illegitimate", dir. Adrian Sitaru) and Yang Caiyu ("Youth" Dir. Feng Xiao Gang) was short-listed for the 66th Berlin International Film Festival and screened on Regards du Present in 32nd Namur Film Festival. Appointed President of the Alumni Association of Romanian Students in China by the Embassy of People's Republic of China in 2015, was Head and Founder of LSRS China from 2010-2015, and a C.A.E.S.A.R member. She is also memeber of the Central-East European Association of Sinologists since 2024.
