Polycarpus I (Gr: Πολύκαρπος Α) was a Bishop of Byzantium. He succeeded Bishop [[Apostle Onesimus|Onesimus]] in 69, and served in that office for eighteen years until his death in 89. His last eight years of office (from 81) were during Emperor Domitian's persecution of the Christians.
