Lista episcopilor Romei.
Această listă cuprinde numele episcopilor Romei, precum și anii între care aceştia au păstorit acea comunitate creştină, de la începuturi (după martirizarea sfinţilor apostoli Petru şi Pavel) și până la ruptura dintre Biserica Ortodoxă şi Biserica Romano-Catolică din 1054, cunoscută în istorie ca Marea Schismă.
La început, succesorii Sf. Petru erau numiți doar episcopi ai Romei. Titlul de „Papă” a intrat în folosință abia după câteva secole[1]. Chiar şi astăzi, „Suveranul Pontif” poartă următoarele titluri, în ordinea lor: Episcop al Romei, Vicar al lui Isus Hristos, Succesor al Sfântului Petru, Prinț al Apostolilor, Pontif Suprem al Bisericii Universale, Primat al Italiei etc.
