{{ciornă}} '''Dreptul canonic''' priveşte este legislaţia tradiţională canonică şi care reglementează viaţa Bisericii Ortodoxe. Cuprinde toate aspectele vieţii din [[Biserica Ortodoxă]]Bisericii, inclusiv [[Eclesiologia]], [[Teologia liturgică]] şi [[Morala]]. Deşi în general este folosit termenul de drept canonic, în comunitatea ortodoxă este mult mai adecvat să se folosească termenul de ''tradiţia sfintelor canoane''. Această legislaţie, tradiţia canonică, implică persoane care sunt investite cu autoritate (cum sunt episcopii) împuterniciţi cu mijloacele creării, formulării, interpretării, executării, validării, amendării şi revocării acestor ''legi'' prin acţiuni sinodale sau conciliare.
