In English translations of the [[Bible]], the word heavens can mean sky, or world above earth. For example, in [[Genesis]] 1:1, '[[God]] created the heavens and the earth.' However, the word in the singular is used to describe the place where God and [[angel]]s dwell- cf Genesis 22:15, 'the Lord's angel called out from heaven'.
